General Information: We try our best to surf daily. We as surfers never really get to surf 5 days in a row three hours a day. We are a surf academy. We provide surfing classes and surf instruction. If it is flat which is rare we will have paddle races, sand castle contest and make up for surfing other days during the week. We surf about an hour and a half a session. We can do classes when there are no waves and surf longer when there are waves. We can not control the weather or waves. Below is our schedule which is adjusted based on waves and tides. We have 30 years experience in the ocean. You need to trust our NSSIA training and our experience. If we listen to parents who do not understand surfing or the ocean the way we do, students will get hurt. Safety always comes first. Before you complain please think about this. We rather a business complaint than a safety complaint. We are trained to keep your children safe.

Small Waves & Shore Break: Shire break is when the waves are too small and break on the shore. We can push any students into waves like these. The best case is we lifeguard the students from the front beach side of the class. But if it’s too close to shore 87% of our injuries over the years come from shore break. To be safe we can not allow students to surf these small shore breaking waves. It is NOT safe.
We are NOT a surf camp. We are an Accredited Surf Academy By the NSSIA “The National Surf Schools & Instructors Association.” WE hide fun in Education. We teach students everything they need to know to become real surfers.
The Surf Academy: Our NSSIA Accredited programs introduce ocean safety and surfing etiquette, discuss ocean science topics such as waves and tides, marine biology, winds, coastal ecology and beach profiles, teaches stretching and exercises for young surfers and provides closely supervised instruction in the water. Students are taught the surfing lineup to maintain control and safety at all times within small groups. Visit www.nssia.org for more information. Or Northeastsurfing.com
