RONNIE LEES UTAH SKI ACCIDENT DETAILS: We are happy he is alive. – skiing backcountry at Snowbird in Utah, USA, Ronnie was at 10,200 feet and attempting to get his daughter, an expert Skier and cousin, down an unsafe mountain top in zero visibility “fog” that came in out of nowhere.
Skiing slow with Emma Lees and Chris Lees headed down into high winds. Ronnie completely blind with white out conditions skied thorough a marked out of bonds area breaking both legs and causing other severe injuries to his lower body. After a short search and rescue Ronnie was located. A snowbird team took the skirt down the hard mountain landscape to safety.
He was rushed down the mountain canyons by ambulance to a local hospital where medical attraction was received in an attempt to save his severely damaged legs. He has had one surgery already and another is expected this week.
This doesn’t affect the summer camps or programs Hannah Lees is still coming back as the camp director and company manger and we hope to see Ronnie on the beach. Because Ronnie Lees is out of network his Insurance Company is not covering most of his procedures and medical expenses. Please consider making a donation today.
Please keep Ronnie in your thoughts he has a long road to recovery but he is the backbone of this company and the founders of our surf camps, and he will be on the beach this summer. Thanks Northeast Surfing Hannah Lees and Staff.
